Job Summary
The Technology Lead will manage the discovery, development, delivery, and maintenance of a smaller-sized IT project and/or function at FordDirect. This role will be responsible for solving technical and data-related issues and will work closely with technical architects and development staff to drive the technical direction. The Manager, Technology will gather, understand, and execute requests of the business partners.
Additionally, this role will execute the technology roadmap and compliance responsibilties, resolve escalated issues, and maintain a clear communication and manage change.
The ideal candidate will have a strong business acumen and exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills. They will be able to manage the day-to-day operations and the delivery of change requests and new functionality requests for the DELIVR lead processing system.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with business and technology platform owners for technology evaluation, design, and implementation of assigned projects.
- Drive the application of solid engineering practices, leading/assisting with code reviews and working with team members to troubleshoot technical issues ensuring security and compliance protocols are followed.
- Work with internal teams to translate business requirements into technical specification documentation.
- Define the project scope including goals, deliverables, schedules, and budgets and manage scope changes.
- Identify and escalate risks and key issues to management for prompt resolution, propose resolutions and mitigations.
- Measure, monitor and communicate technology performance of applications.
- Work with project manager and QA lead to create the user story estimation and acceptance criteria.
- Provide deep technical insight, implementing technical improvements as needed.

Experience
- Multi-disciplined IT experience (5 years)
- Team lead role managing IT projects from discovery through delivery (1+ years)
- Standard software development methodologies including Agile (3+ years)
- Ticket management (Jira/Rally)
- Strong background in systems engineering
- Debugging experience using tools like Charles, Firebug, Chrome Developer, and Postman
- Experience leading / supervising contractors
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- General understanding of JavaScript, website development, and web servers or web services knowledge
- Knowledge of API Subscription models and usage monitoring
- Website development (API interactions, front-end technologies)
- Experience across wide range of databases and technologies such as Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop, SQL, Java/J2EE, and FTP
- Java, Node.js, and REST API development experience is a plus
- Container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker (including Docker images)
- BDD, TDD, Trunk-Based and/or Clean Code development experience
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps
- General understand of .NET, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, React
- Ability to monitor/administer a project in Microsoft Azure
- Proactively problem-solve and multitask while maintaining composure and attention to detail.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field or relevant experience
CRM/Leads experience is preferred
