Volt is immediately hiring a Lab Research Engineer with a well-known industry leader in San Antonio.

This is a first shift position.

As a Lab Research Engineer you will:

Implements new and existing test methods to perform physical, optical and mechanical analysis on films, adhesives, and non-woven materials as well as tape and dressing products
Supports method developers by actively engaging in communication related to testing and results, equipment issues, and workload progress
Determines sample properties and whether the performance is correct and accurate. Record and report those results back to the method developers and cross-functional teams as needed.
Draft and release engineering related technical documents (i.e. Test Methods, Test Reports, Test Protocols, etc.)

Estimated Duration up to 24 months.

The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor's Degree in science or engineering preferred
Experience with physical property testing of tapes, adhesives, biomechanics, and dressings
Experience presenting scientific results verbally and visually
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
Experience in technical documentation/writing
Experience with using scientific instruments/equipment and familiarity with lab safety

Pay Rate: $26.71 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
