The primary responsibility of the Junior Chemist is to assist in research and laboratory experiments verifying raw material and finished goods samples that support the manufacturing of non-tobacco, nicotine products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop methods for HPLC and Gas Chromatography analysis and ensure appropriate requirements are followed
- Maintain revisions to lab work instructions and test methods
- Perform non-routine analysis on various samples
- Responsible for documenting and interpreting data
- Perform daily/weekly maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment
- Provide technical support to QA Technicians and compounders
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or relevant science-related field
- 5+ years of experience in analytical laboratory
- Proficient in use of scientific method, critical thinking, and problem solving
- Strong knowledge of high performance liquid and gas chromatography
- High problem-solving skills, thinking out of the box, innovative approaches to roadblocks
- Laboratory qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
- Strong knowledge or interest in raw material functions and properties
- Ability to follow instructions as well as to work independently
