Industrial Maintenance Technician - Night Shift
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including motors, conveyors, robotic systems, and hydraulic circuits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ceramic or tile production, a passion for sustainability, and expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and programming automated equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, ensure safety compliance, and contribute to sustainable practices. Strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality are essential for success in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Observe mechanical and electrical devices in operation to diagnose malfunctions using sensory methods (sound, temperature, etc.).
- Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machinery, including robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
- Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective parts; inspect parts for wear, imperfections, and dimensional changes.
- Repair or replace electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components, ensuring optimal performance through lubrication and cleaning.
- Program and troubleshoot automated systems, including robots and programmable controllers, to ensure operational efficiency.
- Use metalworking tools (lathe, drill press, grinder) for part fabrication or repair.
- Ensure adherence to Florim and OSHA safety standards, complete safety training, and wear required PPE.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and production teams to improve machine performance and sustainability practices.
- Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot complex problems and propose innovative solutions.
- Maintain a physically demanding work environment, including lifting, climbing, and handling materials.

- Experience: Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, preferably in ceramic or tile manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
- Technical Skills: Strong expertise in repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as automated equipment such as robots and programmable controllers.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in maintenance, industrial technology, or related fields preferred.
- Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and ability to ensure a safe work environment through proper PPE use and adherence to safety protocols.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy materials, climb, bend, and work in physically demanding environments requiring stamina and dexterity.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, with a background in ceramic or tile manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.
- Experience working with automated systems, robotic equipment, and programmable controllers is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Skills:
- Strong technical proficiency in maintaining and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Skilled in using metalworking tools (lathe, grinder, drill press) to fabricate or repair parts.
- Proficient in programming and troubleshooting automated machinery, including robots and programmable controllers.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose malfunctions and identify solutions efficiently.

Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and standing for long periods.

- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
