Job Description Summary

As the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. You will work with the leadership teams of Transamerica, the finance organization and Aegon to provide high quality analysis and information to facilitate key financial business decisions. You will be expected to:
• Develop, lead and drive the enterprise-wide management information and financial analytical abilities to enhance decision making for Transamerica as well as Aegon by implementing and maintaining processes focused on producing financial management information, and driving accountability for profitability;
• Support decision making with strategic financial guidance for the enterprise through clear analysis that draws out key financial performance drivers and indicators and the ability to articulate principal findings in an actionable format;
• Proactively bring strategic finance thought partnership through best-in-class financial expertise to tactical and strategic initiatives, including industry insights.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead and drive the enterprise-wide financial planning and analysis capabilities to enhance decision making for Transamerica as well as Aegon by implementing and maintaining processes to report information that drives profitability for the company.
  • Support decision making with strategic financial guidance for the enterprise through clear analysis including both IFRS and capital frameworks that draws out key financial performance drivers and indicators and the ability to articulate principal findings in an actionable format.
  • Work with Business Unit CFO leaders to aggregate information for decision making that takes the full Transamerica impacts into account.
  • Complete quarterly analysis for consolidated IFRS and capital reporting including production of actual results in collaboration with accounting and actuarial teams.
  • Complete updated consolidated forecasts and budgets in collaboration with Business Unit CFO teams.
  • Lead enterprise expense management planning practices, coordinating and maintaining expense allocations.
  • Communicate and liaise with finance leadership team and global peers.
  • Proactively bring strategic finance thought partnership through best-in-class financial expertise to tactical and strategic initiatives, including industry insights.
  • Build key relationships with CFO and finance leadership team, the Executive Committee as well as Aegon’s CFO and peers.
  • Oversee procurement process for Transamerica

Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in financial management, product management, and/or corporate development at a large financial services company.
  • MBA, FSA, CPA and/or similar professional designation.
  • 10 years of experience leading high caliber teams.
  • Extensive financial acumen and experience with life insurance products and retirement plans.
  • Ability to influence indirectly by understanding management deliverables.
  • Passion and energy for, and experience with creative problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple deliverables.
  • The inclination to seek and analyze data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organization's overall strategy.
  • Ability to evaluate the capacity for change in order to create realistic goals and implementation plans that are achievable and successful.
