Lake Forest Academy seeks a full-time head athletic trainer to start on July 1, 2025 who can manage the athletic training operation within the athletic department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, screenings, injury prevention programs, athletic consults, injury assessment, and treatment and case management of injured athletes undergoing rehabilitation. The Head Athletic Trainer works the entire calendar year, including summers, and reports to the Athletic Director. Licensure and certification from NATA and BOC are required for employment.
General overview of responsibilities:
Manage athletic training staff, as well as possible interns and student helpers.
Establish daily operating hours for the athletic training facility and manage the setup of water and medical needs around LFA's athletic facilities (practices and contests).
In coordination with athletic leadership, create a detailed schedule for specific services and athletic training coverage for practices and all home interscholastic athletic events.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Provide assistance to students in the prevention of athletic injuries.
Identify, evaluate, and provide immediate first aid in response to athletic injuries.
Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and reconditioning programs for injured students.
Operate a variety of first aid, rehabilitation, and adaptive equipment.
Provide reports to coaches and treatment plans on injuries to LFA coaches.
Collaborate with the Health Center, the Dean of Students (DoS), and appropriate faculty members regarding injuries, rehabilitation, schedules, and academic/daily needs for injured student-athletes.
In collaboration with the Health Services Office, maintain appropriate records on all injuries, treatments administered, physician's diagnosis, treatment plans, prescriptions, physical examination reports, accident reports, and insurance forms.
Adhere to all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations regarding confidential student information.
Establish and cultivate working relationships with a designated school physician, community physicians, and local physical therapists.
Establish and cultivate working relationships with local colleges & universities to secure possible interns for the Athletic Training team.
Recommend, requisition, and order needed equipment and supplies following consultation with the Athletic Director and coaches.
Work with the Health & Wellness Department to develop and disseminate nutritional guidelines for athletes and provide continuing education on nutrition for both coaches and athletes
Serve as lead Athletic Trainer for all LFA run Summer Camps.
Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Director, as needed.

Compensation/Benefits:
Lake Forest Academy offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes full medical and dental coverage, 403(b) retirement benefit, and 30 days of PTO per year. Final salary will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the final appointed candidate, with an annual pay range between $60,000-$85,000 ($28-$38 per hour).
