Objectives of this Role:

• Assists the lead fabrication technician with tasks for the level of experience of the student.
• Perform daily checks on equipment and assist in checking lab conditions to ensure conditions are suitable for building and testing hardware, i.e. temperature and humidity.
• Prepare areas for testing hardware.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Work and train under the supervision senior experienced Fabrication Technician and Engineering Technologist to learn basic skills and assist in performing smaller tasks.
• Building up skills to be given more challenging tasks.
• Build circuit boards and harness assembly.
• Must demonstrate competency in soldering to pass IPC J-STD-001 certification, NASA cable and harnessing certification, and polymeric certification.
• Local year-round student position.

Requirements:

• Must be pursuing an Associates in Electronics or Applied Science or related degree field.
• 0 years: Understanding and interest in power systems and soldering knowledge.
• Basic electronics understanding.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.
