The Department of Clinical Sciences at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in medical oncology. This position will support clinical activity and clinical teaching in the Harrington Oncology Service in the Foster Hospital for Small Animals, but is also expected to take an active role in supporting our clinical and/or applied oncology research program. The successful applicant is expected to develop an independent or collaborative research program in a relevant area. We seek an enthusiastic team-oriented clinician who will support the student and resident training environment and ensure outstanding patient care, client care, and service to our referring veterinarians. The emergency and critical service provides 24 hour/7 day a week service and is certified as a Level 1 Trauma Center.

This position will provide 22-26 weeks of clinical coverage, with an additional 21-25 weeks available for research and scholarly activity, off-clinic teaching, and service. Engagement with collaborative and independent clinical trials research is expected. Vacation and university time off is 5 weeks.

Requirements include a DVM degree or its equivalent and completion of a residency program in medical oncology. Board certification is required at or within two years of the time of hire. Demonstrated interest and aptitude in teaching is required. Appointment rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and interests of the candidate.

Candidates should submit a curriculum vitae and a cover letter describing their qualifications, research experience and interests, clinical interests, and teaching experience.
