Expanded Function Dental Aux- Dentistry
Location: Middleburg Heights Dental Clinic
Biweekly Hours: 80.00
Shift: Mon-Thurs 8-5:30 Fri: 8-12:00

Summary:
While under the supervision of a dentist and within the scope of his or her license, provides specified dental care to children and adult patient populations. Fills/restores teeth nomenclature with restorative materials after the dentist has appropriately prepared the teeth. Provides dental services consistent with the established standards of infection control, and clinical excellence
Qualifications:
Required: Successful completion of an Ohio State Dental Board-approved EFDA training course that is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools' Higher Learning Commission. Successful passage of the EFDA exam as administered by the Commission on Dental Testing in Ohio (CODT) or the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA). Possess a current Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB), or a current certification from the Ohio State Dental Board. Possess current Ohio Dental Assistant Radiographer license. BLS Certification from the AHA. Willing to work according to job assigned and over-time requirements (i.e. days, evenings, weekends, and in home care service/outpatient dental clinics in the MetroHealth System). Reliable transportation to travel to all satellites. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Three years of clinical experience as an EFDA/CDA in a dental office. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
