Our Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of supply through supply planning, sourcing, making, inventory management, packaging and delivery. We partner across the Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing organizations to build a robust demand and supply plan and ensure we get products to the right customer, at the place, at the right time.

The Value Chain Leader (VCL) is the primary point of contact between the Manufacturing Division Operating Units and one or more of the Commercial Customer Business Lines (CBL). The incumbent will be responsible for developing supply strategies for new pipeline oncology products and supply chain design. The VCL will have major impact on cost, quality, customer service and compliance for the brands in their portfolio and directly affect commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities for this role include influencing, managing and prioritizing initiatives within the end to end supply chain through driving supply chain strategies, supporting commercial ambitions and providing oversight. The position requires broad based knowledge of and experience with large molecule operations, technology and technology platforms, and general knowledge of LEAN supply chain, regulatory, finance, quality and compliance, commercialization and life cycle management. This position will be required to routinely work with senior leaders within our Company, including our Manufacturing Division, Research & Development Division and Human Health Division, to develop and execute product and product supply strategies in alignment with CBL and Operating Unit strategic goals.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct the development and execution of the new pipeline for oncology product supply strategy which is aligned with our Manufacturing Division and overall company strategies.
  • Maximize value creation and retention through product supply strategies; work closely with our Human Health division and the Product Development Teams (PDT) to influence process scale and design in accordance with LEAN supply chain design. Identification of external trends and strategies that impact our business and incorporation into overall goals and strategies for our Manufacturing Division
  • Maximize supply responsiveness through reduced cycle time, enhancing customer service and reducing working capital
  • Represent our Manufacturing Division on CBL Leadership teams advising on risk and opportunities
  • Influence cross-divisionally and cross-functionally to align cross-divisional strategies and deliver on the critical elements of the Manufacturing Supply Strategy
  • Assure that Product Master Plans outlining supply strategy for the brand are in perfect alignment with our Human Health Division franchise strategy relative to cost, quality, customer service and compliance
  • Identify opportunities to improve overall P&L of the E2E Operating Unit through productivity improvements in product cost, maximizing profit and the life-cycle of the brand
  • Support reviews of portfolio identifying opportunities for consolidation/rationalization with an eye on cost containment
  • Accountable to deliver new product value chains designed with optimized flow that is scalable to meet evolving commercial needs throughout the product life-cycle
  • Supply Chain Risk Management for all managed value chains and continual renewal of risk identification and mitigation objectives following our Integrated Risk Management framework
  • Develop and manage a group of high performing and engaged Product Leaders

Education Requirement:

  • B.A./B.S. or higher in Engineering, Science or related field with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience preferred experience in leadership positions in biologic or vaccines operations and biologics or vaccines technology.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Candidate will also have cross functional skills and business/management/operations experience, knowledge of the Supply Chain business and processes.
  • Persuasion and influence, confidence, proactive mindset, accountability and capability in working with and influencing people outside of the Operating Unit and our Manufacturing organization.
  • The position requires a person with a strategic and commercial viewpoint who approaches decision making from the company perspective.
