Employment Specialists

TradeWinds Services, Inc, situated in Merrillville, is currently inviting applications for full-time and part-time Employment Specialists. The position offers flexible working hours to accommodate various schedules.

As an essential member of TradeWinds Services, the Employment Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting a diverse group of individuals with disabilities. The primary responsibility includes assessing, planning, organizing, and implementing personalized services for participants actively seeking employment within the community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to job readiness training, conducting discovery profiles, performing situational assessments, developing job opportunities, and providing job coaching to ensure participants are successful and supported in their employment journey.

Experience Required: Candidates should possess outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills. A team-oriented attitude with ability to take direction, as well as strong writing and communication abilities, are essential. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective decision-making and time management skills, along with a responsible and adaptable approach to work. Ideally, applicants will have one to three years of experience with diverse populations, particularly those with disabilities.

Education Requirements: A High School Diploma or GED is required. An Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or a related field is preferred.
