Trenton Housing Authority
HIRING Executive Director
The Housing Authority of the City of Trenton (THA) located in Trenton, New Jersey is
seeking a highly qualified and vision-oriented
professional for the position of
Executive Director. THA manages approximately 1,500 family and senior/disabled public units with 75 full-time employees and an annual budget in excess of $20 million. THA is also
currently involved in major redevelopment
initiatives including a major neighborhood
revitalization in accord with a CNI
implementation grant.
The Executive Director reports to a
seven-member Board of Commissioners and is responsible for all aspects of the agency's
operations, including strategic planning and
organizational development, finance and
administration, asset management, capital
improvements, resident and community
relationships and implementation of current
redevelopment projects. Experience in overseeing and administering large
redevelopment projects is a preferred qualification. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader
with vision and integrity who can secure and
direct resources to meet THA goals and objectives. A minimum of five (5) years' experience as an executive director, deputy executive director, or equivalent in a medium to large public
housing authority or redevelopment agency is required. The candidate must possess a
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) from
an accredited college or university in public
administration, urban planning or a related field and knowledge of HUD programs,
policies and procedures and must have a
PHM Certification. This position is subject to
New Jersey Department of Community
Affairs ("DCA") certification. The salary is
negotiable and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. THA offers an
