Our Development & Permits department is seeking a Deputy Director that will assist the Director in managing the department operations by providing direct supervision of some divisions and operating in the Directors' absence.

The successful candidate for this position will be able to do the following:

• Prepare presentations and fill in the Director at public meetings.
• Lead Department projects that cross divisional boundaries (IE SWM New Code).
• Represent/Facilitate Department for Economic Development projects/priorities
• Supervise assigned divisions, including participation in major projects.
• Represent the Department on matters involving other departments, previously handled exclusively by the director.
• Responsible for resolving inquiries, problems and complaints submitted to the Director's office by local officials, citizens, customers, employees and State agencies.
• Advises and assists in developing and implementing internal department organization and management system to effectively meet operating goals and objectives.
• Establishes and tracks performance measures for all divisions within the Department.
