Licensed Daycare Teacher

Location: Albany, NY

Reports To: Daycare Center Director
Compensation: $19 – $25 per hour, depending on experience and credentials

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Licensed Daycare Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Albany, NY. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting and a strong understanding of early childhood development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that meet the needs of each child.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and independence.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children at all times.
• Conduct daily routines including meals, toileting/diapering, and naptime with consistency and care.
• Monitor and document each child’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their child’s growth and needs.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan events, resolve challenges, and maintain a high-quality program.
• Ensure compliance with all New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations and center policies.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 2) or a related approved license/certification per NYS OCFS guidelines.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field (required).
• Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Passion for working with young children and commitment to their developmental success.
