Full Job Description
The Racine Journal Times, a division of Lee Enterprises, is looking for a newspaper reporter who writes clearly, can develop relationships with sources and has an ability to take initiative. Responsibilities will include writing, taking photos, and posting content online and on social media.
The reporter's primary beat will be covering courts, law enforcement and public safety for The Journal Times and Kenosha News.
The Journal Times and Kenosha News are daily newspapers in southeast Wisconsin. We cover urban, suburban and rural areas with downtowns along Lake Michigan. The counties sit between Milwaukee and Chicago. Racine and Kenosha counties are communities that have their own identities, and they rely on The Journal Times and Kenosha News for news and information. We've won several statewide awards in recent years and we've got a strong digital culture. We focus on local content of what's of interest to our readership.
New journalists are welcome to apply. Writing samples and photos from college papers are welcome. We will offer training to the right person. The position requires night and weekend hours.
