FORESTRY & RIGHT-OF-WAY COORDINATOR
Location: The is a hybrid position. The successful candidate may report to any office location in the State of Georgia; however, the candidate must be able to attend in-person meetings as required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities and will be subject to Company location reporting requirements for hybrid positions.
The Forestry & R/W Services Business Support team is based out of Atlanta, GA at the GPC Corporate Headquarters. The coordinator position has support obligations across the State. Because of the statewide support aspects of this position, the reporting location is flexible. The position will be expected to maintain a presence at various locations, including local company offices, as well as frequent trips to our corporate office in Atlanta.
JOB SUMMARY
This job provides direct support to the Forestry and Right-of-Way (FROW) organization. The position will serve as the liaison for Source to Pay (S2P) activities (vendor procurement, contracting and invoicing support) performed within the FROW organization. This position will be responsible for the coordination of invoicing activities and accounting/revenue activities related to Georgia Power’s vegetation management work for MEAG. The position also assists with logistics related to FROW operations and Storm Center support.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as liaison between FROW, SCS Supply Chain and vendor partners in the development and implementation of contracts and vendor relationships. This includes hosting and organizing pre-bid meetings, monitoring bidding processes, building executed agreements and associated data in ES Maximo or other Company applications. This position also champions our supplier diversity efforts;
- Create and route purchase requisitions and purchase orders for approval in ES Maximo or other Supply Chain systems for FROW vendor services;
- Process non-PO invoices and check requests as needed by FROW teams in Oracle ERP or other Company applications;
- Act as Business Unit Administrator and Subject Matter Expert for GPC FROW in CAMP application, providing setup, training and support on the application for internal and external partners;
- Manage departmental compliance, auditing and certifications for staff members
- Assist in the development of annual MEAG work plan for execution by field arborists;
- Own revenue/bill back to MEAG for FROW work performed by GPC and ensures proper accounting for delivery of Net Income;
- Support creation of operational and financial analyses, reporting, tracking and recommendations to FROW leadership;
- Represent organization on system-wide and operating company initiatives, audits and committees as needed;
- Coordinate departmental trainings, compliance activities and other meetings to support the organization;
- Serve as de facto member of all departmental committees related to safety and operations;
- Participate in SERP efforts in the Georgia Power Storm Center, including logistical support for mobilizing and monitoring contract tree crews during storm restoration.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
The following education and experience are preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (MS, MBA) from an accredited institution;
- Utility vegetation management experience is a plus;
- Experience in Source to Pay lifecycle (Supply Chain, Invoicing, Accounts Payable);
- Experience in Utility Accounting (accruals, net income/revenue accounting);
- Experience with FERC compliance and/or internal auditing;
- Experience with analyzing and reporting on O&M, Capital and Unregulated Financials;
- Knowledge of GPC’s FROW organization and operations is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power BI, Power Apps and related applications);
- Knowledge of CAMP, CSS, ES Maximo, Oracle Cloud ERP and other Southern Company internal tools utilized in the Source to Pay process a plus;
- Knowledge of spatial and database technologies, including GIS, remote sensing and spatial data analysis a plus;
- Ability to deliver high quality analytical results in a timely and organized manner;
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects with aggressive schedules and competing deadlines
