As a Controls Engineer, you will:


  • Develop and write application code using Visual Basic, C++, PLC, and OIT programs.
  • Design electrical schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical specifications to meet project standards.
  • Program PLC systems to control industrial food processing equipment.
  • Develop functional OIT screens for seamless operator interaction.
  • Troubleshoot and identify problems, propose alternative solutions, and assess associated risks.
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to a variety of projects.
  • Assist with quoting complex machines and parts by leveraging advanced product knowledge.
  • Collaborate with sales, service, engineering, and production teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Communicate with technical professionals both inside and outside the organization.
This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial machine controls
  • Experience with Allen Bradley
  • Experience with thermal processing (highly preferred).
  • Proficiency in PC-based control systems with Microsoft OS.
  • Strong programming skills in Visual Basic, C++, PLCs, and GUI systems.
  • The ability to read and interpret machine control electrical schematics.
  • Experience configuring industrial machine controls, including AC/DC drives.
  • Familiarity with ERP-based business systems such as JDE or equivalent (preferred).
  • Understanding of costs, margins, and profit impact in decision-making.
This is an onsite position in Madera, CA, with occasional travel (approximately 15%) to customer sites within and outside the U.S.

Salary: $80 to $135K annually
