Full Job Description
Control Center Operator I
Pennsylvania General Energy (PGE) is seeking a Control Center Operator I for our Warren, PA office. This full-time, rotating shift position plays a critical role in the remote monitoring of natural gas wells and midstream production facilities.
Summary: Remotely monitors unconventional gas wells, compressor stations, pump stations, meter stations, and other production facilities using SCADA software in order to minimize downtime, maximize production, and ensure safety
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
1. Remotely monitor live data from producing gas wells and production/midstream facilities using Cygnet and Wonderware computer programs.
2. Recognize any issues, alarms, or data irregularities and call out or dispatch appropriate field staff as needed.
3. Enter weekly fuel gas readings and tank venting information in the proper spreadsheets.
4. Manage water truck scheduling from all producing well pads.
5. Effectively communicate with field staff via radio and telephone in order to achieve company operational goals and ensure employee and public safety.
6. Capture all operational changes made to all wells by recording the information concisely and accurately in the Cygnet Notes tab for the proper well.
7. Prepare written reports for distribution to Operations personnel and Management.
8. Responsible for coordinating the notification of proper personnel for Spill Response, Emergency Response and other related communications.
* Control Center personnel do not control the pipelines or direct others in the field to take specific actions regarding operational decision-making surrounding pipeline operations.
Additional Position Responsibilities:
1. Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on business needs. These positions cover a 24/7 operation (days, evening, night, holidays) and operating on a rotational schedule
Minimum Requirements:
Essential Knowledge and skills:
1. General knowledge of Citrix and Cygnet (training will be provided).
2. Must have a valid driver's license
3. High School Diploma
Experience:
1. 1-2 years prior experience field experience specific to oil and/or gas production is preferred.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
1. Ability to multi task
2. Good computer skills and prior experience with Word and Excel
3. Ability to read and comprehend measurements, safety regulations and instruction without oversight.
4. Demonstrate good communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift up to 25#
2. Position requires ability to push, pull, sit for up to 10 hours, fine manipulation skills.
Candidates must have success in the ability to multi-task, intermediate computer skills, and 1-2 years of prior industry experience is preferred. This position works 12 hour shifts.
