Full Job Description
Summary
Lead, direct and oversee effective daily operation of the HVAC temperature controls construction department. Responsible to lead the preconstruction process in all types of design-build, design-bid-build, and hard bid engagements. Establishes project objectives for preconstruction phase, maintain liaison with prime and/or subcontractor clients, and monitors design progress and project budget. Act as needed to ensure project goals, objectives and initiatives are met in alignment with the company's mission and customer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Collaborate with the bid team, operations team, owners, designers, and subcontractors to ensure the design phase is completed on time with acceptable margin performance. Work with the construction team to ensure accuracy of cost estimates, scopes of work and schedule requirements. Identify and effectively manage owner expectations during the preconstruction phase.
- Responsible for the development of viable cost options and value engineering/analysis in all building systems with a thorough understanding of the inter-relationship of building systems and their impact on the overall project budget. design, quality, and life cycle.
- Responsible to accurately manage all aspects of estimating, constructability, and value analysis, including the timely management of take-off functions, subcontractor bid solicitation, estimate maintenance, and final deliverables. Ability to analyze both risk and profitability at each level of the estimate.
- Effectively build and manage project schedule in Procore by collaborating with field operations on scope elements and durations, to include design phases, project phasing, permitting, prequalification, bidding, long lead items and impactful general, electrical and mechanical construction activities.
- Work with senior leadership to set clear and attainable goals for construction teams. Participate in training opportunities to increase technical and leadership competencies.

- Associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or an equivalent combination of training and work experiences preferred.
- Project management in commercial HVAC controls, electrical or mechanical construction is required with a preference for HVAC temperature controls experience.
- 7 years' experience in the construction industry.
- PMP certification is highly desirable.
