Full Job Description

The Department of Surgery/Division of General Surgery/Section of Acute Care Surgery (ACS) at the Stanford University School of Medicine seek to recruit a Clinical Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon. This faculty position will be at the Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor level in the Clinician Educator Line (CE) at Stanford University.

The candidate would join a dynamic, diverse, and supportive ACS team, and would develop a strong clinical and academic presence in trauma and acute care surgery. The major criterion for appointment for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration, and/or scholarship. Applicants must be board eligible/certified in general surgery and have completed a fellowship in surgical critical care or acute care surgery. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent clinical and technical skills in trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care, and exemplary communication and leadership skills. Interest in elective general surgery and robotic surgery are assets. A track record of research and innovation in data science, quality improvement, clinical outcomes, health technology, surgical education, health policy, or public and global health would fit well with the academic vision of Stanford Acute Care Surgery.

Salary Range:
Clinical Assistant Professor: $357,000 - $387,000
Clinical Associate Professor: $418,000 - $460,000
Clinical Professor: $497,000 - $539,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
