Position Title:

CAREER Navigator/Financial Aid

Responsible to: Director of Career Services

This position description assists in providing outreach/recruitment services for potential FEC clientele.

Primary Objective: Determine eligibility for financial assistance for various grant programs.

1. Job Duties.

• Conduct overviews with customers to obtain information related to FEC programs and Financial Aid
• Provide search assistance and conduct client interviews
• Provide outreach/recruitment service for potential FEC clientele.
• Determine eligibility for financial assistance for various grant programs administered by FEC.
• Assist with the placement and follow-up activities for all programs
• Provide follow up of FEC clientele.
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain records and confidential data
• Other duties assigned.

EDUCATION:  

High School Diploma or GED with basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills that are normally acquired through high school diploma or equivalent.  Associate degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• One to two years of experience in similar administrative position or combination of education and experience  
• Computer skills are essential
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse work environment 
• Must have reliable personal transportation and must have auto insurance
• Must be able to pass a background check
