As a Senior Business Manager, you will partner with the VP, Compliance, Ethics & Regulatory Services to manage the development and execution of strategic planning and initiatives for the division, many of which have enterprise-wide impacts. In this role, you will apply business expertise, systems thinking, analytical capabilities, and program/project management to anticipate and plan for long-term needs and trends.

You’ll have the opportunity to engage and consult with all levels of the division and Premera, to develop and deliver on business strategies, projects, and programs, providing regular updates to senior leadership on progress. This role requires excellent operational execution, change management, analytical problem-solving, communication, continuous improvement, and cross-boundary collaboration skills. The ideal candidate is an individual with the ability to build strong relationships and successfully manage complex, strategic programs while fostering a positive work culture.

What you will do:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Consult and partner with executive management to identify key business issues, outline strategic alternatives, and recommend effective solutions to align with Premera's strategic goals.
  • Manage the divisional planning process and perform independent analyses for a broad array of complex issues across functional areas.
  • Manage the execution of division strategic plan deliverables, including the development of department-level goals, objectives, and roadmaps.
  • Communication and Presentation:
    • Lead the development of divisional presentations and ensure that key messages are captured and communicated in an impactful and easy-to-understand manner.
    • Leverage, align, and integrate communication strategies and collateral from executive leadership. Collaborate with peer disciplines to gain buy-in on programs and processes from business stakeholders.

Project and Program Management:

  • Lead the integration of large enterprise projects and programs by developing project team objectives, managing risk, and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and outcomes.
  • Partner closely with teams and leaders to design, implement, and operate new programs and/or enhancements.

Expertise and Governance:

  • Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge across all lines of Premera’s business and provide subject matter expertise in division programs, and business processes across the company.
  • With leadership partners, establish governance structures, cost-benefit analysis, ROI, and performance metrics.

Collaboration and Performance:

  • Increase team performance and inter-departmental collaboration through contributing insights, leveraging resources, and providing support via scalable projects, programs, and/or initiatives.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field or four years of work experience.
  • Eight years of experience in developing, implementing, training, and supporting new or existing strategic programs and processes.
  • Eight years of program, project, or change management experience (or a combination of the three).

Additional preferred skills/ experiences include:

  • Experience in a regulatory environment, such as the insurance, healthcare, energy, or finance industry.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.

National Plus Salary Range:

$119,900.00 - $203,800.00

*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
