REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years as a Business Analyst, preferably in the insurance industry, with a focus on data validation.
- Experience with insurance systems
- Proven success in requirements gathering, system integration, and testing.
Skills:
- Proficiency in data validation tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel) and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong documentation skills for business requirements (e.g., BRDs, user stories) and test cases.
- Familiarity with testing tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail) and methodologies (e.g., UAT, regression testing).
- Excellent communication to bridge technical and business teams, ensuring clarity for insurance stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of insurance regulations (e.g., HIPAA, NAIC standards).
- Experience with front-end design principles or UI/UX for client-facing systems.
- Understanding of insurance market dynamics.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid role with a mix of on-site work in Springfield, MA, and remote flexibility, supporting collaboration with our local team.
- Dynamic, fast-paced environment with opportunities to impact data quality and client satisfaction.
- Occasional evening or weekend work during system rollouts or peak claims periods (e.g., post-storm surges).
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Business Analyst will drive data quality and system efficiency by developing and executing data validation plans, defining business requirements for integrations and front-end systems, and leading testing processes.
- This role focuses on ensuring accurate claims processing, policy management, and customer data handling in a fast-paced insurance environment.
- The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled at translating business needs into technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Validation
- Develop Data Validation Plan: Design detailed plans to validate insurance data (e.g., claims, premiums, policyholder records) across systems like policy administration or CRM platforms. Establish rules for data accuracy, completeness, and consistency, including error detection thresholds and audit trails.
- Perform Data Validation: Execute validation checks using tools like SQL, Python, or Excel to verify data integrity (e.g., ensuring claim amounts match policy limits). Identify discrepancies, document findings, and collaborate with data teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Integration :
- Integration Business Requirements: Gather and document requirements for system integrations, such as connecting claims databases to billing systems or third-party APIs (e.g., for fraud detection). Partner with stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow and compliance with insurance regulations.
- Integration Development Support: Translate business requirements into technical specifications for developers. Validate integration performance during implementation, ensuring data accuracy across platforms (e.g., real-time policy updates).
- Front-End Requirements:
- Front-End Business Requirements: Define user interface needs for front-end systems, such as agent portals or customer-facing apps. Specify features like claims status trackers or policy renewal dashboards, prioritizing usability for Springfield's diverse client base.
- Testing :
- Test Scenario Development: Create comprehensive test scenarios and cases to validate system functionality, data accuracy, and integrations. Include edge cases (e.g., high-volume claims during storm season) and regulatory compliance checks.
- Scenario Execution : Conduct testing cycles, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Log defects in tools like Jira and work with IT teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Testing Sign-Off: Review test outcomes, confirm all requirements are met, and provide formal sign-off on deliverables. Document results for stakeholder approval, ensuring systems are ready for production.
