What You'll Do
As a Baker, you will:
- Prepare, bake, & decorate from scratch breads, bars, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, pastries, and specialty chocolate confectionaries for our guests
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, cases, and counter ensuring all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines are met
- Collaborate with Hotel Chef & Beverage Manager on bakery preparation and execution for special functions to ensure exceptional service is provided
- Work closely with Café's back of house team for the bakery's production schedule while providing exceptional service
What it Takes
- Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience, pastry cooking or pastry chef experience with high volume food production
- Degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts preferred
- Experience with from scratch baking highly preferred
- Ability to obtain ServSafe and State Food Handler Certification
- Ability to employ math skills when following recipes and menu specifications
- Strong listening, communication, and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve
- Ability to work flexible scheduling including early morning, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Additional hours may be needed beyond the normally scheduled hours to prepare for banquets/special functions
