Assistant or Associate Professor, Hematology and Oncology Genitourinary OncologyAssistant or Associate Professor, Genitourinary Oncology on the clinical scholar pathway with an approximate 50:50 contribution to clinical service and academic pursuits.

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine at the UW. The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch. Specific rank at UW will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UWs Faculty Code Section 24-34. University of Washington assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and associate professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that both align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The selected individual for the advertised position is expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in genitourinary (GU) oncology. The GU medical oncology team comprises well known leaders in education, mentoring, clinical and translational GU oncology research, as well as patient care. UW/Fred Hutch is the home of the Pacific Northwest Prostate Cancer Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE), one of eight Prostate Cancer SPOREs in the nation and is a member of CDMRP Clinical Trials Consortium. Urothelial / bladder cancer research is also very robust with numerous clinical trials, some of which have been practice-changing (resulting in FDA approvals), a rigorous, funded translational research infrastructure, and a highly interactive, inter/multidisciplinary approach in patient care. Fred Hutch and University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Teaching responsibilities will involve oversight of advanced practice providers and fellows/residents during inpatient and outpatient rotations, and delivery of informal teaching sessions and formal lectures to providers and the general medical community. Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on-site at Fred Hutch and UW.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a record of and primary interest in GU malignancies, as well as an active clinical research interest, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of GU cancers.

Applicants must have an MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent), subspecialty training in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology (or foreign equivalent), and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
