As a Assistant Dockmaster, you will:
- Oversee drydocking and undocking operations, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations
- Plan and execute safe drydocking evolutions and vessel launchings
- Maintain positive stability of all vessels under company control
- Train personnel in dry dock operation and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with company, EPA, OSHA, and USCG regulations
- Maintain records and perform maintenance on floating dry docks and marine railways
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering from a four year college or university; and 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of a drydocking training course
- Knowledge of MIL-STD 1625 series, NAVSHIPS Technical Manual, Chapter 997, and Facility Certification Reports.
- Knowledge of docking procedures, ship handling, and ship design
- Proficient in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, Access, and AutoCAD.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in loud, wet, and humid conditions
- Ability to work at hights
Work Environment:
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, and extreme heat
- Must be able to work in a loud, dynamic environment with varying weather conditions
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- NAVSEA Certified Dockmaster/FOS
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
