Job Summary
Application Analyst, Nuclear Technology Solutions - This job will be filled as an Exempt Level 4, 5, or 6, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is responsible for the implementation of new applications, upgrades to existing applications, and support for interfaces between applications supported by the Nuclear Technology Solutions Applications Portfolio to support the fleet of three nuclear plants and the corporate office. This position partners with the nuclear business to understand their processes and apply technology to improve productivity and efficiencies and to reduce cost. This is currently a hybrid role that has the expectation to be in the office (Energy Center) each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and working remotely on Friday. This may change as required to support business expectations.
Job Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering or currently have Bachelors in a non-technical degree with 6+ years of experience in Information Technology/Computer Science is required. Individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology will be considered.
- Familiarity with Windows 11/10, MS-Office, and Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 is required.
- Experience supporting, implementing, integrating, and supporting vendor application solutions is preferred.
- Experience supporting both Web and Windows client solutions is preferred
- Database experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL is preferred
- Experience with applications in a Citrix environment is preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS) is preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred
- Application development experience in .NET, C#, TypeScript, Python, scripting and PowerShell is preferred
- Experience with Blazor or Angular web frameworks, including IIS is preferred
- Experience with SOAP and REST APIs is preferred
- Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub, including Git and CI/CD is preferred
- Experience with batch processing and message queues, including SFTP is preferred
- Experience with web services, Web API, Entity Framework and LINQ is preferred
- Experience with AI tools, LLMs, Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Agents is preferred
- Must be a US Citizen and comply with 10 CFR Part 810

Other Requirements
- Signature of Intellectual Property Agreement is required for all Southern Company Technology Organization employees
- Successful completion of Southern Nuclear Background Investigation (including credit history/check) is required for employment
- Participation in Federal Initial and Random Drug/Alcohol Testing is a requirement of employment
