Alarm Technician

Install electrical components, equipment, or systems. Explain use of products or services. Position equipment using hand tools, power tools, or heavy equipment. Repair electrical components. Repair electrical circuits or wiring. Test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning. Inspect equipment to locate or identify electrical problems. Lay cables to connect equipment. Inspect safety equipment to ensure proper functioning. Drill holes in parts, equipment, or materials. Determine types of equipment, tools, or materials needed for jobs. Plan work procedures. Document operational activities. Confer with customers or users to assess problems. Run wiring to connect equipment. Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance. Maintain knowledge of current developments in area of expertise. Order materials, supplies, or equipment. Navigate various work sites, ensuring his own safety and as well as the safety of other onsite personnel. Sites include, but are not limited to: commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential. Read a blueprint in order to ensure he has the correct number and type of devices with him on a job site. Read a blueprint in order to ensure that he will install devices in correct locations. Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and onsite personnel. Works on the installation of all types of commercial fire alarm systems, including but not limited to the following: Firelite: 9200, 9600, 9500 Fire Panels, Kidde:   VS1 and VS4 Fire Panels, Kidde:   Smoke detectors, heat detectors, horn strobes, pull stations, Vigilant and Silent Knight.

Job Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma, minimum 6 months of experience in Security and Fire Alarm Systems Installers. Required some experience in electrical piping and wiring.  Basic knowledge about fire alarm system, the ability to work on high ladder and lifts. Work will require travel throughout the U.S. 

Compensation: $48,048.00 per year
