We believe in the power of financial planning, investing, and wealth management to help individual investors and their families achieve their financial and life goals. To support this mission, this position will be part of a team focused on providing data analysis, thought-leadership, and consulting on Schwab's financial planning, investing, and wealth management advice. Our goal is to help our retail and advisory partners deliver, improve, and deepen advice to clients.

As part of the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR) we're looking for these skillsets:

Investment analysis, understanding of portfolio management & financial planning concepts
Quantitative data analysis and the ability to derive insights
Data visualization & presentation
Strong oral and written communication

With these skills you will:

Work with Director-level analysts to ideate, create, and support team deliverables
Produce and maintain charts for the SCFR Charts offering
Prepare quarterly performance reporting and analysis
Provide consulting to partners on investment and financial planning topics
Make detailed powerpoint presentations to internal audiences for training and other consultative purposes

What you have

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with preference for majors in Economics, Accounting, Business or Finance.
At least two years of experience in financial services industry.
The ability to collaborate with diverse business partners such as technology teams, marketing, product, and compliance teams.
An understanding of global investment markets including underlying economic, fundamental, behavioral, and other factors. Ability to identify and evaluate intangible factors for performing data analysis and research.

Preferred Qualifications

Progress toward or desire to pursue CFP and/or CFA
Familiarity with coding in VBA, Python, SaS or R is a plus.
A well-organized self-starter with high energy and creativity, able to manage multiple tasks through prioritization.
Familiarity with the following tools: MS Office, Tableau, Bloomberg terminal, and Morningstart Direct.
A curious mindset that leads to new, creative approaches to solving problems and servicing business partners.
Traits: Adaptable, attention to detail, able to operate and embrace ambiguity, intellectual curiosity.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
