What You'll Do
As a Customer Service Clerk I, you will:
- Assist customers in person and by phone with utility account inquiries and service requests.
- Provide information regarding utility billing, payments, services, and City policies and procedures.
- Process utility account transactions, payments, service orders, and account updates accurately and efficiently.
- Enter, update, and maintain customer account information within the utility billing system.
- Prepare and maintain records, reports, and related documentation.
- Process incoming correspondence and route information as appropriate.
- Access available information sources to answer customer questions and provide assistance.
- Collaborate with team members and other City departments to provide excellent customer service.
- Perform related clerical and customer service duties as assigned.

- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling account information and financial transactions.
- The ability to learn policies, procedures, and utility billing processes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with computerized systems and standard office software.
- Previous customer service, cash handling, bookkeeping, or administrative support experience is preferred.
