Job Title
Laborer Civil Water & Sewer Line Construction
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Laborer to join our civil utility crew specializing in water and sewer line installation. This position supports underground utility projects through trenching, pipe installation, site preparation, equipment assistance, and general labor duties. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and willing to learn and grow within the utility construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist crews with installation of underground water and sewer utilities
· Perform trench preparation, shoring, backfilling, and compaction
· Load, unload, and stage tools, pipe, fittings, and construction materials
· Assist equipment operators, pipe layers, and foremen during utility installation
· Use hand tools, power tools, compactors, saws, and other construction equipment safely
· Install and maintain trench safety systems and barricades
· Help locate existing utilities and maintain safe digging practices
· Perform grading, cleanup, traffic control, and general site housekeeping
· Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
· Work in trenches, around heavy equipment, and in physically demanding environments
· Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or foremen
Qualifications
· Previous construction or underground utility experience preferred but not required
· Ability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods
· Ability to lift 50–75 pounds regularly
· Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
· Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment preferred
· Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
· Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
Preferred Certifications
· Valid driver’s license
· OSHA 10 or PEC Training
Work Environment
· Outdoor construction sites
· Exposure to dirt, mud, dust, noise, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions
· Frequent standing, bending, lifting, climbing, kneeling, and working in trenches
Compensation
· Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications
· Typical Wyoming wage range: $20–$30 per hour depending on experience, certifications, and equipment skills
