Job Description

Job Description:

The Office of One Stop Student Services is seeking a student-focused, proactive, and highly collaborative Assistant Director. Reporting to the Associate Director of One Stop Student Services, this role provides integrated support across Student Financial Services, Student Accounts, and Registrar. Operating as a single point of contact and resolution, you will guide students and families through complex administrative processes in a fast-paced, cross-trained environment. At Berklee, your work directly supports the next generation of creative leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Trained Student Support & Counseling:

  • Holistic Guidance: Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective, new, and continuing students across all campus tracks (Boston, Conservatory, NYC, Valencia, and Online), advising on financial aid, billing, and registration.
  • Financial Aid Navigation: Counsel families through the financial aid application lifecycle. Partner with our federal verification partner (Inceptia) and guide students on alternative financing options, including private loans, PLUS loans, and institutional scholarships.
  • Academic & Billing Transactions: Facilitate essential enrollment tasks, including course adds/drops, transcript processing, enrollment verifications, billing payments, and payment plan enrollments.

Operational Excellence & Compliance:

  • System Mastery: Leverage a robust technical ecosystem—including Workday, Salesforce, Colleague, PowerCampus, PowerFAIDS, Nelnet, and Flywire—to monitor, track, and resolve student status issues throughout the enrollment cycle.
  • Advocacy & Liaison Work: Act as an institutional advocate, resolving multi-layered issues by interpreting school policies and collaborating with backend business groups.
  • Performance Metrics: Meet established email response times and call-answering metrics while maintaining absolute compliance with FERPA and federal regulatory frameworks.
  • Outreach & Leadership: Participate in proactive communications and website information campaigns to deliver critical, timely data to families. Assist in the guidance and supervision of student employees.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: College degree preferred.
  • Technical Know-How: Strong technical proficiency, with direct experience utilizing student information systems and CRM platforms. Experience with Colleague and Salesforce is highly preferred.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, rigorous time management habits, and a goal-oriented, student-first philosophy.
  • Mindset: An action-oriented, highly ethical, and accountable attitude with a willingness to collaborate across multi-functional teams to build a best-in-class service culture.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work occasional weekends and after-hours, specifically during high-volume periods like semester starts and move-in weekends.

Why Choose Berklee?

  • Innovative Culture: Join a trailblazing team redefining higher education administration through a modern, integrated service delivery model.
  • Cultural Access: Enjoy nightly, unrivaled access to world-class music, theater, and dance performances across our campus venues.
  • Total Rewards: Outstanding health and dental packages, a 403(b) retirement system with matching contributions, generous PTO, tuition assistance, and a paid winter break to rest and recharge.
